One of my New Year's resolutions was to pick up the knife more at the shop and create more artistic & inspiring designs. When you own & run a flower shop, there is so much more that goes into it, than just having fun with flowers.
With that being said, I do need to make it more fun for myself, and will try to get away from the "business" end of it, and move more back towards the "creative" side to keep myself sane in this crazy flower business.
I will be designing at least a few extra special unique flower arrangements a week, for the next few months, and will be posting them to the blog frequently, and also will make them available for purchase on our website at Belvedere Flowers.
Here is the first of Adam's Awesome Arrangements which consists of hybrid delphinium, yellow "conga" roses, pink heather, dendrobium orchid sprays, yellow sunflowers, & pussy willow branches. Designed in a antique style distressed urn pottery.

More Awesome Arrangements to come real soon.....
OK, I am back the last week in January 2009 for another addition to "Adam's Awesome Arrangements"
I found this vase hiding in the back corner of the store, looks to be some kind of Ancient Greek Gathering. I remember purchasing this handmade stone pottery from a great company caled SF Imports out of Canada if i'm not mistaken. We also used to sell a lot of "face lady" planters which could hold any 6" plant.
Anyway I wanted to try & use a different container each time I create another awesome arrangement.
Here it is below-

This awesome arrangement includes a burst of hybrid blue delphinium, bells of Ireland, purple iris, white lily, yellow tulips, sunflowers, pink heather, & curly willow branches.

Ok below is another arrangement that I created which was inspired by our first bunch of forsythia branches picked up from the local wholesaler this January 30th 2009 which made me think of Spring!
This cold weather is driving me nuts and I am ready for Spring, even though it's not even February yet!
I still need to get through Valentine's Day!
Anyway, we sell a lot of keepsake containers including ceramic & metal birdhouses & watering cans.
The design below consists of a bunch of white tulips, lavender "cool water" roses, pink heather, yellow flowering acacia, orange alstroemeria, & finished off with forsythia branches.
